Digital Camera Identification

چکیده
Forensically linking an image to a particular camera can be very useful. In a court of law, the origin of a particular photo may be crucial evidence in a case against child pornographers or industrial espionage. ere are a number of approaches that can be taken, but most have severe issues. Metadata in the header may be lost if the image is saved into a different format and can be easily forged. Police needing to verify the authenticity of their images can use special cameras that embed fragile watermarks or store a hash of the image on a secure memory card, but in most situations the image will have been taken on a normal consumer camera. What’s needed then is a way to link the image data itself to the camera. In this essay I will be examining the method proposed by Lukáš et al. to identify cameras by their unique sensor pattern noise [5]. Previous approaches include an investigation into the use of supervised learning based on a vector of numerical features extracted from the spatial and wavelet domains [4]. However, this only achieved 95% accuracy even in the best case; not good enough for most forensic work. Another research project looked at identifying cameras by pixel defects [2] but these are oen eliminated in the post-processing of modern cameras and as there are some cameras without any defects in the sensor, this is again suboptimal.

A Proposed Simple Teleradiology System Using a Digital Camera
Background & Aims: Teleradiology as an efficient way for avoiding unnecessary transfer of patients to special medical centers requires the images with digital format. However, in some developing countries, including Iran, imaging is being done using non digital devices. In such cases, changing analog images into digital ones can solve the problem. The method which is nowadays used for digita...
متن کاملA New Feature-Based Method for Source Camera Identification
The identification of image acquisition sources is an important problem in digital image forensics. This paper introduces a new feature-based method for digital camera identification. The method, which is based on an analysis of the imaging pipeline and digital camera processing operations, employs bi-coherence and wavelet coefficient features extracted from digital images. The sequential forwa...

متن کاملDiagnostic Accuracy of Digitized Images Using Different Resolution Settings of Digital Camera in Detection of Proximal Caries
Objective: When none of digital systems and scanners is accessible and it is essential to have digitized images of conventional radiographs, digital cameras can be used. The Aim of this study was to investigate whether digital images obtained by different resolutions of a digital camera are matched to the original radiographs in evaluation of caries. Methods: In this diagnostic accuracy in v...
متن کاملImprovements on Source Camera-model Identification Based on Cfa Interpolation
The idea of using traces of interpolation algorithms, deployed by a digital camera, as an identifier in the source camera-model identification problem has been initially studied in [2]. In this work, we improve our previous approach by incorporating methods to better detect the interpolation artifacts in smooth image parts. To identify the source cameramodel of a digital image, new features tha...

This paper proposes a simple but yet an effective new method for the problem of digital video camera identification. It is known that after an exposure time of 0.15 seconds, the green channel is the noisiest of the three RGB colour channels [5]. Based on this observation, the digital camera pattern noise reference, which is extracted using only the green channel of the frames and is called Gree...
